Andrew Rizzi

Chief Executive Officer

Andrew is a third year from Vienna, VA studying Commerce. He joined Global Markets Group in the spring of his first year and has pitched Long Zoom and Long Wayfair. This coming summer he will be joining Houlihan Lokey as a summer analyst with the financial restructuring group in their New York office. On grounds he's also involved with the credit and restructuring club. With his free time he enjoys playing golf, hunting, and following uva sports.

Shruta Thum

Chief Executive Officer

Shruta is a third-year, majoring in Commerce and Applied Statistics. She has been a part of GMG since the spring of her first year, and has pitched Vivid Seats (SEAT), an online ticketing platform, and Kenvue (KVUE), the former consumer health division of Johnson & Johnson. At UVA, Shruta is also a member of the McIntire Investment Institute, a writer for the Virginia Undergraduate Business Review, and a volunteer through Madison House. In her free time, she enjoys finding new restaurants, going to the gym, and watching 2000s teen dramas.

Ronit Batra

Chief Development Officer

Ronit is a third-year student from Fairfax, VA, studying Computer Science in the School of Engineering. He joined Global Markets Group during the fall of his first year and has since pitched Snowflake (SNOW), Amadeus (AMS.MC), and General Electric Vernova (GEV). Ronit is currently a Software and Go-to-Market engineer at Golden Ventures advising Seed and Series A startups. Outside of GMG, he is also involved in theCourseForum, Machine Learning@UVA, and Greek Life. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, watching Washington sports teams, DJing, and playing poker.

Tina Gao

Chief Investment Officer

Tina is a third year from Fairfax, VA studying Finance and Statistics. She joined GMG in the spring of her first year and pitched long Tradeweb (NASDAQ:TW) and long First Watch (NASDAQ:FWRG). This summer, she will be joining UBS as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst. Outside of GMG, she is involved in AKPsi and the CavDaily. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new cafes, baking and painting.

Cal Massaro

Chief Investment Officer

Cal is a third-year from Boston, MA, studying Finance and Economics. This past summer, Cal interned at Flywire as a Corporate Development and Strategy Analyst. This coming summer, he will be an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at Houlihan Lokey. At UVA, he is also involved in the Virginia Epilepsy Association, Catholic Hoos, and Bread Across Borders. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and soccer, skiing, and rooting for Boston sports.

Charlie Gehringer

Chief Operating Officer

Charlie is a 3rd year from Gladstone, NJ studying Real Estate and Finance in the McIntire School of Commerce. He joined Global Markets Group in the fall of his first year and has since pitched real estate marketplace, Zillow (ZG), SE Asian ride-hailing and food delivery platform, Grab (GRAB), and Indian life insurance company, HDFC Life Insurance (HDFCLIFE). This past summer, Charlie interned at Investure and has also interned in venture capital with Launch Africa Ventures. Next summer, he will be joining Guggenheim Partners as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst. At UVA, he is also involved in Common Cents, Club Rugby, Greek life, and Intramural Basketball. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, weightlifting, listening to Jimmy Buffett, and watching the Detroit Lions.

Bahadir Turhan

Chief Operating Officer

Bahadir is a third year student double majoring in Commerce and Statistics with a minor in Computer Science. He currently works as an Undergraduate Researcher for the Biocomplexity Institute and is a TA for COMM 2002. This summer he will be joining Greenhill as an M&A Summer Analyst in their New York office. Outside of GMG Bahadir is involved in AKPsi and the Cavalier Food Pantry. In his free time he enjoys cooking, reading, and playing card games.

Ryan Zhao

Fund Manager

Ryan Zhao is a second-year student majoring in Commerce with a second major in Applied Statistics. He joined Global Markets Group during the fall of his first year and is actively involved across the UVA finance community. Outside of GMG, Ryan participates in the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society and the Credit and Restructuring Club. He previously worked at Asgaard Capital during the summer and continues his involvement throughout the academic year. In his free time, Ryan enjoys playing tennis, swimming, and cooking, especially steak. Fun fact: he has won a hot-dog-eating contest in the past.

Arun Janupreddy

Fund Manager

Arun is a second-year student from Ashburn, VA, studying Commerce and French. He joined GMG during his second semester and has since pitched Thermo Fisher Scientific (NYSE: TMO) and Whole Milk Powder futures (WMPV26). This summer, Arun will be working as an investment analyst intern at Northbank Capital Management. Outside of GMG, he is also involved in Virginia Consulting Group and The Geometry Lab at UVA. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, cooking, and playing the clarinet.

Michelle Lin

Fund Manager

Michelle is a second-year student from Knoxville, Tennessee pursuing an Echols Interdisciplinary Major. She joined GMG in the fall of her first year and has since pitched Genius Sports (GENI) and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet (OLLI). This past summer, she conducted economics research on the Federal Reserve and financial markets. Outside of GMG, she is also involved with Virginia Venture Fund, Delta Sigma Pi, 180 Degrees Consulting, Club Tennis, and Greek Life. In her free time, she enjoys playing the violin and harp, watching college football, and trying new restaurants.

Kelly Pan

Fund Manager

Kelly is a 2nd year student from Maryland, studying Commerce and Statistics. She joined Global Markets Group in the fall of her first year and has served as an Associate the past 2 semesters. Outside of GMG, she is also involved with AKPsi, Profit with Purpose, and Echols Ambassadors. In her free time, she enjoys painting, traveling, and trying new restaurants!

Nicolas Cutler

Fund Manager

Nicolas is a 2nd year studying Commerce and Computer Science. He has worked as a private equity intern for Spica Capital and tutors students in math and computer science. Outside of GMG, he is involved in AKPsi, VVF, and the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music and podcasts, trying new food, and playing pickleball.

Artin Saadat

Artin is a 2nd year student majoring in computer science and economics. Outside of GMG, he is involved in AKPsi, Persian culture society, and intramural basketball. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, playing spike ball, and travelling
